How to Get the Most Out of Your Test Drive

Thanks for participating in the BeBop Test Drive!

This article will help walk you through the Test Drive experience.   If you are having trouble logging on and accessing a Test Drive workstation, please refer to this article:

Before you get started:

PLEASE NOTE: For the smoothest Test Drive  experience, please turn off any software on your local computer with heavy background utilization. Examples include Chrome, Spotify, Dropbox, any media applications, and antivirus software.

The Session Dashboard:

The Session Dashboard is your control center for the Test Drive.

The links on the left are there for your convenience.  This link will take you to the article you are reading now.

This link will direct you to folders containing demo project files and media.  You can double-click on project files to start up the appropriate application in order to test with demo content.   Please note that the Test Drive is a “bring your own license” experience.  Thus, you will need your own login to access the included applications.

This link will put you in touch with our Support staff.

The timer at the bottom shows you how much time you have remaining in your 48-hour Test Drive. Please note that your workstation will shut down and become inaccessible as soon as the 48-hour Test Drive period has elapsed.

When you want to take a break from the Test Drive, click the Shutdown button in the upper-right corner of the Session Dashboard to temporarily shut down the workstation.  You can come back to this workstation as much as you like for the duration of your 48-hour Test Drive period.

The Launcher conveniently provides links to all the creative applications installed on the Test Drive workstation.  Simply click the appropriate icon to start up the associated application.  Note that the list of available applications in the App Launcher may differ from the image below, depending on your chosen Test Drive workstation configuration.

OTS (Over The Shoulder) is BeBop’s secure screen-sharing and voice-chat enabled real-time collaboration tool.  OTS enables a user on one BeBop workstation to share their screen and voice chat with another user on a separate BeBop workstation.

To initiate an OTS session, type in a name for the session in the Session Name field, enter a description of the session in the Description field, and then select a user to invite to the session using the Select user… menu.  The list of users in the Select user… menu will be populated by individuals who are currently in active Test Drives.

OTS Sessions within the Test Drive are limited to five minutes.  Unlimited OTS session time is available with a paid BeBop subscription. OTS sessions are currently a one-to-one experience, meaning that no more than two users can concurrently participate in an OTS session.

Please reference this article for more detail on how to participate in OTS sessions:

Helpful Tips:

Toggling full screen and windowed views:

Occasionally, you might want to task-switch between your local desktop and your BeBop workstation.  By default, the BeBop workstation interface is set to full screen.  But this can be toggled into a windowed mode as well.

  • On a Windows PC, you can press Ctrl+Alt+Enter to switch between full screen and windowed interface for your BeBop workstation.

  • On a Mac, you can press option+command+return to switch between full screen and windowed interface for your BeBop workstation.

Audio Latency:

If you are experiencing audio and video that is out of sync in Premiere you may need to adjust the 'Audio Latency' setting.  The suggested adjustment is to "60ms."  Please follow these instructions:
